Highland Brewing Company filled its first kegs in December of 1994 in Asheville North Carolina. They started in a small brewery in downtown Asheville, filling about 6,500 barrels of beer a year. Now, in a newer and larger facility, they are able to fill over 50,000 barrels annually. Known for their consistency in their year round beers, they take every step they can to ensure your Gaelic Ale or Black Mocha Stout always tastes like it is supposed to. They even hold a weekly tasting panel (what a great job!) to educate employees on how the beers should taste, and to ensure the batches are all meeting the high standards they have. Not only do they believe in all that they do at Highland, the community does as well. Highland was recently awarded the “2014 North Carolina Small Business of the Year” by Business NC magazine.

A little more about our three beers on tap for the mini takeover:

Gaelic Ale: A deep amber-colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body. A deep amber-colored American ale, featuring a rich malty body.

Kashmir English Style IPA: A full-bodied India Pale Ale. This beer is golden in color with a moderate malty character with full hop flavor – Bold and brazen!

Black Mocha Stout: Highland’s most robust beer, having a very malty body with a large, roasted chocolate flavor, all achieved solely through the use of special roasted barley grains.
